BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – An occupant of a residence in the 100 block of North 23rd Street in Battle Creek had to be treated for smoke inhalation on Wednesday morning following a fire that caused over $90,000 worth of damage.
The Battle Creek Fire Department reports the blaze was reported just after 9:00 a.m. at the property owned by Greg and Rhonda Hudson which was occupied at the time of the fire.
The fire was in the area of the kitchen and back porch
Fire crews found heavy smoke coming from the rear of the structure when they arrived. All occupants were evacuated safely.
The Battle Creek Fire Marshal and Fire Inspector were on the scene and the fire is currently under investigation.
