KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo city commissioners held their first meeting of 2024 last night and held a public hearing on their budget for the coming year.
No citizens spoke about the budget but several commissioners had questions.
Commissioner Chris Preadel asked about funding for proposed downtown restrooms, which did not appear in the proposed budget.
City chief operations officer Steve Ascenzi says they are looking at two sources.
The mayor wanted to know if the public wanted to review the budget where they could go.
Ascenzi says anyone who wants to take a look can easily find the entire document online.
Commissioners are set to take a final vote on the spending plan at their meeting on the 22nd.
