KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — It is like the guidebook for the operation of the city of Kalamazoo.
Eight years ago, after getting a lot of public input, commissioners adopted the Imagine Kalamazoo 2025 plan, setting out the goals and priorities they would like to achieve.
City staffers say they are well on their way to completing almost all of their goals with two years to spare and time to push towards more success.
Here’s Assistant City Manager Rebekah Kik.
But they doubt they will get all of them completed by the end of 2025.
City Planner Christina Anderson says one that won’t make it is a proposal to plant fruit trees in public spaces around town.
She says it’s a nice idea but it poses a lot of problems.
She says in the second half of this upcoming year, they plan to begin preliminary work on their Imagine 2035 plan.
