LANSING, MI — Media partner 6 News WLNS in Lansing is reporting that Ingham County Prosecutor John Dewane has now charged the mother of a toddler who shot and killed himself outside of a Lansing gas station in October.
Emma Huver, 26, faces six felony charges including involuntary manslaughter in the death of her son, identified as King Muhammad. The Lansing woman is a three-time convicted felon, according the prosecutors.
Police says Huver was in a car with her son parked outside the Sunoco gas station on Dunkel in Lansing Oct. 24, when the boy climbed to the front seat of the vehicle and shot himself in the face with a handgun. The boy later died at the hospital.
Last week, Avis Damone Coward, 44, from Lansing, was federally charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.
