KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries says a local couple has issued a challenge to the community for #GivingTuesday, agreeing to match any donations made to KGM up to $20,000.
According to Vice President of Advancement Lynn Russcher, the couple has chosen to remain anonymous, “but are very excited to be able to support Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries in this very specific way.”
Since its debut in 2012, organizers says #GivingTuesday has inspired giving around the world, resulting in greater donations, volunteer hours, and activities that assist no-profit organizations.
Donations for Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries can be made online at www.kzoogospel.org. Volunteer opportunities are also available, from mentoring a guest in the Mission’s New Life/New Hope Program, to signing up to serve food to hungry guests and community members at breakfast or dinner.
Individuals are also invited to donate clothing and household items at one of three locations: Simple Treasures Thrift Store, 185 Old Kilgore Road, Portage, Rescued Treasures Thrift Store, 524 North Burdick Street, Kalamazoo 49007 or at Kalamazoo Deacons Conference, 1010 North Westnedge Ave, Kalamazoo.
Last year, Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries had more than 500 people donate on #GivingTuesday.
