GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Two-thousand Thanksgiving meals have been served to the needy in Grand Rapids yesterday by over 500 volunteers.
The annual tradition was held at DeVos Place with help from Meijer and the Gilmore Collection and Gilmore Catering.
Mel Trotter Ministries CEO Dennis VanKampen says they wanted to be sure everyone in the community had the chance to get a great Thanksgiving meal and experience.
There were 180 turkeys served along with 600 pounds of green beans, 600 pounds of green bean casserole, 60 gallons of gravy, and 2,400 pounds of stuffing.
