SHERIDAN TOWNSHIP, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a shooting incident Wednesday morning in the 16000 block of 29 Mile Road in Sheridan Township.
A 48-year-old woman reported at about 7:40 a.m. that she heard several shots outside her residence. She later discovered bullet holes in the exterior of her home.
Upon further investigation, several bullets penetrated the residence in other areas of the home. The woman was not injured and was the only occupant in the residence at the time.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau, as well as crime scene investigators with the Calhoun Area Multi-Jurisdiction Evidence Team (CAMJET) are conducting further investigation into this incident.
Evidence was collected and will be used in further investigation. Initial investigation suggests this was a targeted incident.
The Marshall Police Department and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources assisted the Sheriff’s Office.
