CHICAGO — A second half comeback failed to materialize as the Michigan State University Spartans fell to the Duke Blue Devils in the Champions Classic in Chicago Tuesday night.
Now three games into the season, MSU has failed to meet expectations falling to 1-2. The 74-65 loss to Duke featured several spurts where the Spartans made runs led by the second half shooting of Tyson Walker, who led the Spartans with 22 points, but poor free throw shooting and turnovers again marred the effort.
Michigan State is next scheduled to host Butler (3-0) Friday at Breslin Center.
