ALLEGAN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Over 12,000 people and businesses in Allegan County will start to get hooked up to high-speed internet soon.
Crews will start installing over a thousand miles of fiber cable this month to bring broadband service to more of the rural county at download speeds of at least 100 megabits a second.
Project manager Jill Dunham says they are expecting the work to be done by late 2025.
She says there are “huge swaths” of Allegan County that do not have quality high-speed internet right now.
