LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The state House has passed a bill to allow 16 and 17-year-olds the right to register to vote when they turn 18.
The bill is a response to low voter turnout numbers for young people as Tufts University research found just 23% of people between 18 and 29 vote, but Michigan’s 36% turnout for that age group in 2022 led the nation.
A political science professor in the state says there is no single reason why young Americans don’t vote often.
What? you can’t even buy a lotto Ticket or Drink or a buy a pack of cigarettes at 16 17. Whitmer is an idiot. How dumb is our government. what a bunch of lunatics. Vote them out. Term limits get rid of people running Michigan and get new. What a Joke.
