KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Survivors and advocates celebrated the recent passage of legislation that keep guns out of the hands of convicted domestic violence offenders for 8 years.
For some, like west Michigan resident Rick Wardle, it’s been a long time coming.
His daughter, Maggie Wardle, was killed 24 years ago in Kalamazoo College dorm room by her boyfriend.
The federal high court is hearing arguments today in a challenge to the 1994 law that keeps people facing domestic violence restraining orders from having guns.
