PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — About two-dozen people gathered across Portage Road from Pfizer’s headquarters Sunday afternoon to call on the company to stop making COVID-19 vaccines. State Represenative Steve Carra of Three Rivers joined them and is calling on other lawmakers to join him in putting pressure on Pfizer. The group behind the protest says the issue is non-partisan, but Carra admits no Democrats have signed on.
Carra was critical of the government’s backing of Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson developing the vaccines. Pfizer’s vaccine was already in the works for another illness when COVID-19 hit.
