PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 24-year-old Portage man is facing several charges including two counts of felonious assault and assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder for a fight on October 22. Lionell Hatchett was arraigned on the charges Monday. Portage public safety says they responded to a loud argument in the 700 block of Gladys Street at 11:14 a.m. Sunday.
Hatchett and a woman were in a parking lot at the scene and had been fighting over a gun that belonged to him. It fired twice during that, but no one was hurt. Hatchett is also charged with resisting and obstructing police.
