KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is back in downtown Kalamazoo with a new substation. Chief David Boyson says it is their first presence downtown since 2017.
The substation is 716 square feet and the ribbon was cut yesterday. It is located on the Kalamazoo Mall and will be open daily from 8 am to 6:30 pm. Police note crime has increased since 2017 when the last KDPS station downtown closed.
