KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – There was a noisy and peaceful demonstration at Kalamazoo’s federal courthouse downtown Thursday evening to call for a peaceful resolution to the violence in the Gaza Strip.
Well over 100 turned out despite a light rain. While the protesters were critical of Hamas for the violence inflicted on innocent Israelis, it was also clear they do not condone the response meted out by the Israeli government, or what it plans.
While drivers passed by, honking their horns in appreciation, Meliha Raza Khan spoke for the Palestinians trapped in Gaza.
She says she would like to see President Biden use his influence to push for a ceasefire, and end the hostage crisis with diplomacy.
The protest ended after about an hour.
