BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – A pole barn fire at 2711 Watkins Road early Friday morning led to the deaths of a number of chickens.
The Battle Creek Fire Department says the blaze was reported just after 1:00 a.m..
Firefighters found a 40 x 60 foot pole barn was fully involved in flames when they arrived on the scene.
They made a defensive attack as a water shuttle operating system was set up to extinguish the fire.
No one was hurt. There was a chicken coop connected to the back of the barn and all the chickens perished in the fire.
The Battle Creek Fire Marshal’s office is currently investigating the fire.
