BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Battle Creek Police plan to place extra officers on traffic patrol next week.
The patrols consisting of reassigned officers will be in place between October 23 and 27 after many Battle Creek residents expressed traffic concerns.
Up to 13 police officers will be specifically focused on and ready to enforce violations for speeding, aggressive or distracted driving, vehicles without license plates and other minor traffic offenses.
These officers will be out in the city in addition to the city’s typical group of patrol officers. The officers will focus on all city neighborhoods and commercial areas.
Drivers also should remember that both city and state laws require that you use cell phones hands-free only while driving. This includes while you are sitting at a red traffic signal.
