BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – A cause of a fire in a Battle Creek apartment building is under investigation by the local Fire Marshal.
The Battle Creek Fire Department says the blaze at 207 Freedom Lane was reported at 1:49 a.m. on Monday morning and caused about $115,000 worth of damage.
The fire was contained to a first floor bedroom where it originated and was called under control within 10 minutes of fire crews arriving on the scene.
No injuries were reported. Officials say all of the occupants had gotten out prior to the fire department’s arrival.
The property is owned by the Volunteers of America.
