BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Jurors in Battle Creek are deliberating the fate of landlord and double murder suspect Chad Reed. He is accused of killing tenants Joseph Soule and Jaclyn Lepird in October 2020 after an argument, with forensic pathologist Dr. Ted Brown saying the victims were found over a week after they were last seen alive.
Reed admitted to police that he shot both of them and beat and strangled her before moving their bodies to an abandoned home in the area. Autopsy results found both had alcohol and cocaine in their system and one had tested positive for COVID-19, but none of those were factors in their deaths.
