KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – In collaboration with the county’s Veterans Services Office, The Salvation Army of Kalamazoo is bring back its Veteran’s Stand Down event, scheduled for Friday from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
The event aims to provide valuable resources to veterans, including access to free flu and COVID-19 vaccines, clothing, promotional items, spiritual support, haircuts, dental and nursing services, and comprehensive information on veterans’ services. Additionally, a hot breakfast and lunch will be offered to all attending veterans.
Kalamazoo Metro will once again provide complimentary bus transportation to The Salvation Army for veterans who present valid identification.
The event is free of charge, though veterans are required to present a government-issued ID, with the recommendation to bring their current military identification as well.
This year’s Stand Down will be hosted both in The Salvation Army parking lot and within the community center premises.
