WAYLAND, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The third annual Window World of West Michigan Wayland Hot Air Balloonfest has raised money for awareness of suicide prevention and mental health.
It took place Saturday evening and founder Nissa Smith says she started it because she lost her mom to suicide 16 years ago. She says seeing smiles on people’s faces at the show helps make her feel good and adds it’s great for her own mental health.
The festival featured food, messages of hope that people aren’t alone, and a live band.
