SPRINGFIED, MI (WTVB) – A passenger on a motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash on Michigan Avenue near Limit Street in Springfield on Sunday afternoon.
The crash happened at around 4:00 p.m.. Upon arrival, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says their deputies found a motorcycle off the road with two individuals.
Life saving measures were attempted on the passenger but were unsuccessful, and the person was pronounced dead on scene. The driver suffered injuries and was taken to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo for treatment.
Names have not been released.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing by the Calhoun County Accident Reconstruction Team. They say the initial investigation suggests speed appears to be a factor in the crash.
Deputies were assisted by the Calhoun County Consolidated Dispatch Authority, LifeCare Ambulance, the Springfield Fire Department, and the Battle Creek Police Department.
