KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The National Street Rod Association rolls into Kalamazoo later this week, with the 43rd Street Rod Nationals North at the Kalamazoo County Expo Center Friday, September 8-Sunday, September 10.
Over 2,000 classic and custom cars are expected from all over the country. Organizers say there will be everything from street rods and muscle cars to hot rods and classic cars and trucks, all over thirty years old. The event will also feature special displays, games and contests for kids, and a variety of activities for visitors to explore.
One of the highlights of the event will be the “Spotlight Builder” display featuring Joe and Paul Van Nus of Dutchboys Hot Rods from Vicksburg, Michigan, showcasing their latest creations. Visitors will have the opportunity to check out their amazing work up close.
On Sunday, an all-denomination church service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Streets of Rods, Pro’s Picks, ISCA picks, Outstanding Use of Color, and NSRA Rep/Safety pick award winners will be parked in the Circle of Winners from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Over forty awards will be given out during the 1:00 pm Awards Ceremony.
Tickets will be available at the gate. Spectator ticket hours are from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. both Friday and Saturday, and 8:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $19.00 for individuals aged 13 and above, $6.00 for children aged 6 to 12, and free for children 5 and under when accompanied by an adult.
A family pass for 2 adults and 3 children (12 years & younger) is available for $40.00. A $2.00 discount is offered to all active military, seniors over 60, and NSRA members (all with proper I.D.)
