KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Even though the primary election is 11 months away, candidates are already lining up for local seats.
David Combs of the Westwood neighborhood in Kalamazoo Township announced Monday he is running as a Democrat for Kalamazoo Township Supervisor. the 2024 election.
He is currently an operations manager for the Union of Concerned Scientists, a national nonprofit, and serves on the Kalamazoo County Board of Public Works and Southcentral Michigan Planning Council.
He says he is running on the platform of “a new, progressive generation of leadership for Kalamazoo Township.”
Current Kalamazoo Township Supervisor Don Martin, also a Democrat, has served on the Township board since 2008, becoming Supervisor in 2018 by appointment with Supervisor Ron Reid’s retirement. Martin was re-elected by township residents in 2020.
