BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about an individual who is contacting residents and identifying himself as “Lt. Brandon Jenkins” from the Sheriff’s Office who is requesting money to resolve outstanding warrants from the call taker. They say this is a fraudulent call.
Sheriff’s Office staff will never contact citizens via phone to collect payment for court charges. If you are contacted by a member of the Sheriff’s Office and have concerns about their legitimacy, you can ask for their badge number, hang up, and call the Sheriff’s Office non-emergency line at 269-781-0880 to confirm their identity. The public is asked to report any similar types of calls they receive.
