KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – As roadwork is the norm for the summer season, motorists can expect to see another project pop on the docket in Kalamazoo County next week.
The Michigan Department of Transportation is set to invest $945,000 dollars to repave 4.5 miles of M-89 from the Kalamazoo/Barry county line to M-343 in Richland Township beginning on Monday, August 7, with the work expected to go through until Friday, September 1.
MDOT officials say the work is designed to improve the driving surface and extend the life of the roadway.
Drivers should expect lane closures and traffic regulators while the work is taking place.
Officials go onto say that based on economic modeling, the investment is expected to directly and indirectly support nearly 12 jobs.
