MILTON TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A driver suffered only minor injuries after they lost control of their vehicle that went off the roadway, hit a tree, and caught fire.
The harrowing accident happening in Cass County a few days ago last Thursday, July 27 near the intersection of Runkle Street and Anderson Road in Milton Township.
According to Cass County deputies, a Goshen Indiana resident was negotiating a curve in the roadway around 11:30 p.m. when he lost control and ran off the roadway to the left. His vehicle then came to a rest against a tree and ignited, resulting in the vehicle becoming fully engulfed.
The driver was taken by EMS to the hospital for minor injuries.
While it’s not known at this time whether speed, drugs, or alcohol were factors, authorities say the driver was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
