KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – State Representative Julie Rogers will be putting the focus on behavioral and mental health care access with her Behavioral Health Town Hall Wednesday, August 2 at the Douglass Community Association, located at 1000 West Paterson Street in Kalamazoo.
Doors will open to the public at 5:30 p.m.
Before their scheduled panel discussion, attendees are invited to utilize the resources of the “Relaxation Station” bus, which includes calming options such as massage therapy and light therapy from 4:45-6:00 p.m. There will also be vendors from a variety of health care providers and community organizations who will be available starting when doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Starting at 6 p.m., representatives from local health care providers, law enforcement, behavioral health organizations, and Jeff Patton, CEO of Integrated Services of Kalamazoo, will hold a panel discussion on the challenges and opportunities to address behavioral health needs. After the presentations and discussion, Rogers says they will be addressing specific questions from the community, which can be submitted ahead of time by emailing her office at julierogers@house.mi.gov or by submitting a card on the day of the event.
