STOCKBRIDGE, MI — The National Weather Service is confirming two tornadoes touched down in Jackson County earlier this week during Wednesday’s storms.
Both tornados were on the ground for about four minutes, with the first hitting southwest of Stockbridge at 2:39 p.m. and 80-mile-per-hour peak winds. It uprooted trees and did minor damage to several homes.
The second tornado was south of Stockbridge at 2:47 p.m. and damaged trees and crops.
The Stormtracker 6 forecast today says we have the possibility of strong to severe storms crossing mid-Michigan late this afternoon and this evening with a high of 90′. It’ll be cooler for the weekend.
