BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Battle Creek Police are investigating a car accident that killed a 40-year-old man on Sunday, July 23.
Officers responded around 4:15 a.m. to the intersection of Dickman Road and Washington Avenue where the victim, Paul Warren of Battle Creek was traveling southbound on Washington, but did not stop for a red signal, and struck a semi-truck heading eastbound on Dickman.
Warren was pronounced dead at the scene and was the only occupant of the vehicle he was driving. The semi-truck driver was not injured during the crash.
Authorities believe speed to be a factor in the incident which remains under investigation.
