LAWRENCE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A driver escaped unharmed after their vehicle caught fire on westbound I-94 in Van Buren County on Saturday, July 22.
The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office responded a few minutes before 1 p.m. to the scene near the Lawrence exit and found the driver unharmed.
The driver said he was flagged down by others who saw heavy smoke coming from the car which erupted in flames as soon as he pulled over.
Traffic in the right lane was blocked as the Lawrence Fire Department put the fire out.
The damaged vehicle was safely removed from the scene and the driver suffered no injuries.
