LANSING, MI — Lansing native Earvin “Magic” Johnson is now a co-owner of the NFL’s Washington Commanders. The NBA legend is confident the new owners will make the team successful after the NFL owners unanimously approved the six-billion-dollar sale.
Former Commanders owner Dan Snyder has been the subject of several investigations over the past three years and the sale price is a North American record.
Johnson was a star at Lansing’s Everett High School before playing his college basketball at Michigan State University. He was selected by the LA Lakers in 1979 in the first round of the NBA draft.
