LANSING, MI — General Motors says it expects high demand for its new 2024 offering of the Chevrolet Traverse, which will be built in Lansing at the Delta Township facility. The new model was showcased at an event at the plant this morning, according to media partner 6 News in Lansing.
In fact, the automaker says it expect sales to be so good it will add a third shift at the plant early next year to build the latest edition of the SUV. The plant has assembled 1.65 million Traverses since production began at the plant in 2009.
The vehicle, which borrows elements such as cargo storage and off-road capabilities from Chevy trucks, begins production for the new model year later this summer. New 2024 models will be available at dealerships on floors early next year, according to GM.
