KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – It was a wild afternoon for law enforcement as officers from the Township of Kalamazoo Police Department broadcasted an alert for a suspect wanted for a felonious assault occurring in the 2000 block of Gull Road on Tuesday, July 18.
Following the alert, Public Safety Officers from Western Michigan University observed the vehicle near Stadium Avenue and Howard Street and attempted to stop it. The suspect vehicle fled and continued into Osthemo Township where it struck another vehicle at the intersection of West H. Avenue and North 10th Street.
The suspect then fled on foot and was apprehended by Michigan State Police and Western Michigan University Officers.
The occupants of the vehicle that was struck were treated by Osthemo Township Fire and Rescue and Life EMS.
No serious injuries were reported and the 23-year-old suspect was turned over to officers with the Township of Kalamazoo Police Department before being lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail on multiple charges.
