KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Police in Kalamazoo ended their search for a missing child less than 30 minutes after it began over the weekend.
Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers responded to the report of a kidnapping in the 3000 South Burdick Street around 10:04 p.m. on Sunday, July 16.
Officers say the victim reported that she was assaulted by the suspect, a 22-yr-old Kalamazoo man, and that her 3-month-old child was taken by the suspect. Officers then relayed the information through Kalamazoo Consolidated Dispatch to area agencies.
Portage Department of Public Safety officers were able to quickly locate and the stop the suspect with the child who was found safe and sound within 25 minutes from the time of the call.
The suspect was arrested on a variety of charges and was lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail.
