LANSING MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Two West Michigan lawmakers have introduced bills that would expand the state’s current bottle return law.
State Senator Sean McCann of Kalamazoo and State Rep. Christine Morse of Texas Township say that their proposals would widen the number of bottles that could be returned to cover containers that hold tea, water, sports drinks, etc.
In addition, the new guidelines would also allow the return of bottles to a location that they were not purchased from, and would also provide funding to maintain and expand the bottle return element at stores.
