ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The two women who died in a St Joseph County traffic crash last Friday night were from Shipshewana, Indiana.
Undersheriff Jason Bingaman says the fatal victims were identified as 29-year-old Rosalie M. Yoder and 27-year-old Marcia Ann Miller.
Bingaman reports the two vehicle crash happened at 10:38 p.m. on June 30, 2023 in the area of Indian Prairie Road and Kalamazoo Road.
The Sheriff’s Department says a Cadillac Escalade driven by a 19-year-old Lagrange County man, passed a Chevrolet Cobalt in a no passing zone.
The Escalade then struck the Cobalt sending it off the road where it struck a tree.
Yoder was pronounced deceased on scene. Miller was air lifted to Bronson Hospital with life-threatening injuries. She was later pronounced deceased as a result of the crash.
The name of the suspect driver has not been released by the Sheriff’s Department but he is being charged with several felonies. Alcohol and speed are believed to factors in the crash.
