No injuries in Post cereal hopper fire believed to be caused by system clog

BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Battle Creek Firefighters extinguished an early morning fire at Post Foods on Monday, June 19.

Fire crews responded around 5:43 a.m. to Building 4 at 265 Cliff Street where they saw smoke coming from the 4th floor.

Both Engine 3 and Rescue 2 made an interior attack and quickly put out the fire, which authorities believe was caused by a clog in one of the cereal hoppers during the cooking process.

No injuries were reported.
