BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The Michigan Department of Transportation is inviting the public to provide input on a planning and environmental linkages study for I-194 in Calhoun County.
According to a MDOT news release, the study will focus on the I-194 corridor from the north side of the I-94/I-194 interchange to Fountain Street in Battle Creek. It is known as the Sojourner Truth Downtown Parkway.
The stretch of highway is also known among local residents as “The Penetrator”.
Comments will be accepted during an open house on Wednesday between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the Battle Creek Public Works Building at 150 South Kendall Street.
There will be presentations at 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m..
MDOT says the P.E.L. study is a collaborative process that considers environmental, community, and economic goals in transportation planning.
