LANSING, MI — The city of Lansing is the latest in Michigan to ban burning through June 30. The bans are due to about a month without rain and very dry conditions.
The National Weather Service this week said most of southern Michigan is is moderate drought.
City officials say the burn ban could be extended in Lansing based on weather conditions. Rain is in the forecast for mid-Michigan on Sunday and Monday. Media partner Six News WLNS in Lansing says up to a half-inch of rain could fall during the period.
