KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo Public Schools Board of Education got a surprise at Thursday’s meeting when board member Tandy Moore announced her resignation, effective immediately.
She did not say why, but suggested it was for personal reasons.
Other board members said she would be missed.
Moore, who has taken some contrary stands on issues, says she may be leaving the board, but she will still be around, pointing to the podium where citizens make their comments and complaints.
In the past the Board of Education has requested applications and then after interviews, picks someone to fill seats that become vacant mid-term. Moore’s term expires December 31, 2024.
