KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Kalamazoo teen has died from wounds received in a shooting incident Wednesday afternoon.
At 2:55 p.m. officers from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety responded to a report of shots fired in the 1100 block of East Stockbridge Avenue. They found 17 year old Markii Jerrell Robinson, who was critically wounded with a gunshot wound to the head.
Officers and Life paramedics rendered emergency medical care and transported Robinson to an area hospital. He was pronounced dead at 3:45 p.m.
Police confirmed on Thursday that the suspect vehicle connected to the homicide,a gray 2023 Hyundai Tucson with an Indiana license plate, was recovered the night before on Wednesday around 9:30 p.m., and had recently been reported stolen, according to KDPS.
No other information on suspects has been released.
