KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A teenager charged with fatally shooting another teenager faced a trial in court on Tuesday, June 6.
Authorities say Kahree Compton is charged with killing 17-year-old Jashaw Jones near Interfaith Boulevard on Kalamazoo’s northside back on December 16, 2022.
According to detectives, Compton admitted on December 19th to shooting Jones with a 9mm caliber semi-automatic handgun. Jones was placed on life support at a local hospital but died three days later on December 22, 2022.
Compton is also facing charges for trying to escape the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home on December 23, 2022.
