LANSING, MI — The fire danger in Michigan remains extreme in much of the state, according to the Department of Natural Resources. State officials are urging residents not do any outdoor burning at this time.
In fact, a 136-acre wildfire scorched forests in Wexford County not far from Cadillac this week. The DNR says it has not been as dry as it is in Michigan this early in years.
The National Weather Service calls for hot and dry conditions in mid-Michigan to persist through at least the weekend.
