KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Authorities are reporting that nobody was injured in an early morning house fire in Kalamazoo on Monday, May 29.
Kalamazoo Public Safety was dispatched to the report of a residential structure fire in the 1600 block of North Park Street around 4:10 a.m. where they found the front of the residence fully involved with fire.
Crews were forced to make an exterior attack due to amount of fire and a partial collapse of the second floor and roof.
The fire was brought under control in under 20 minutes.
The fire itself caused a temporary closure of North Park Street from Lulu Street to Hopkins Street for a few hours with motorists being asked to avoid the area if possible.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s office.
