MARSHALL, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Opponents of the Ford Motor Company’s plans to build an electric vehicle battery plant in Marshall were gathering petition signatures to put it to a vote. They held a protest outside Marshall city hall yesterday with signs and petitions for people to sign.
Over 700 acres have been rezoned for the Ford BlueOval Battery Park.
People like Maryjo Budrow and Vicki McGruffin say they are concerned about the chemicals that will be used for the batteries as people in Marshall Township have well water and don’t want it contaminated.
