KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo County Office of the Prosecuting Attorney on Wednesday, May 24 authorized a criminal charge against a Lawton man for his role in the stabbing death of a Galesburg woman.
27-year-old Jeffrey Michael Kucharski of Lawton is charged with one count of open murder for the death of 28-year-old Taylor Ann Dragicevich on Saturday, May 20 in Kalamazoo.
Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers responded to the 2200 block of East Cork Street on Saturday a few minutes before 6 p.m. where they found Dragicevich with multiple stab wounds on her body to include the face.
Officers and LIFE paramedics rendered aid and transported Dragicevich to an area hospital where she died from her injuries a short time later.
Kucharski, confirmed by the Prosecutors Office as the victim’s ex-boyfriend, was taken into custody on Sunday by KDPS Detectives and Van Buren County Sheriff’s deputies during a search warrant in the 27000 block of 66th Avenue in Lawton.
He’s set to be arraigned on the charge of open murder in the 8th District Court.
Kucharski could face up to life in prison if found guilty.
