LANSING, MI — The City of Lansing now has a better idea just how many residents live within its city limits. New data on 2022 population rates released by the U.S. Census Bureau shows the Capital City of Michigan with a population of 112,537.
That’s only 17 fewer people than 2020, according to the stats. Only the cities of Pontiac, Novi and Troy were among larger cities in Michigan that gained population during that two year span.
The Census Bureau says Detroit lost the most residents in the state. The Motor City has 16,966 people now compared to 2020, for a population of 620,376 in the most recent census survey.
