BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – A suspect charged in connection with last February’s murder of a mother and son was arraigned on Thursday in Calhoun County District Court.
19-year-old Juqaveon Oliver is facing two charges of open murder and two counts of felony firearm.
The Battle Creek Enquirer reports bond was denied by Magistrate Amber Straub during Thursday’s arraignment and a preliminary exam was scheduled for June 8.
38-year-old Tieasha Oliver and her 22-year-old son Jaquan West were found dead inside of an apartment at Minges Creek Place on February 24.
Authorities say police responded after getting a 911 call stating that two people were found dead inside an apartment.
