PORTAGE MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Potholes in the surface of the Crossroads Mall parking lot have prompted two lawsuits…one filed by mall officials.
According to WWMT TV 3 news, a Kalamazoo couple, Terry and Margie Gentry, said their car was severely damaged by a pothole on Ring Rd near the mall.
They are planning to file a suit against the mall owners, saying that they are responsible for the damage to the car, and that they know the roads are in such poor condition.
Earlier in May, the mall owners filed a two million dollars lawsuit against the Kalamazoo County Metro Transit, saying that Metro should be responsible for paying to use the roads at and around Crossroads.
A mall spokesperson stated that Metro pays for the use of other venues, and did not request permission when they put up their structure near JC Penny’s several years ago.
